![]() ![]() Fairhope is delightful, with an enjoyable historic downtown. We enjoyed great chats him and with Becky together. When it was just the 2 of us a couple of mornings, Bill sat and ate with us. Breakfasts were yummy and changed every day with a small fruit dish and a breakfast entrée or special pastries and home made jams. The main bungalow has several sitting rooms interconnected that make for a lovely place to relax and read or enjoy the views or take advantage of the wifi if you must. It was the coldest January for decades with temperatures in the teens overnight and we were very cozy. In addition to the full bathroom (shower over bath), there was a little washroom with sink and second toilet off the bedroom - a very nice extra. Very clean room and charming, with several antique items in it. My husband is limited with steps and this was ideal for us. Our room was a suite attached to the main house but with an outside entrance close to the main door. Lovely sunsets and unlimited views from the pier. The back garden has lovely sitting areas and leads to a flight of steps leading to a private pier going out into the bay. This bed and breakfast is a bungalow in its own pretty gardens, with a few guest rooms - some attached to the house and some in cottage rooms a hundred feet or less away, so all very close. We had a most wonderful visit with Becky and Bill. The rooms have to be for the guest's use and comfort, not for the owners to showcase antique bedspreads and Victorian knicknacks. ![]() So the first thing you have to do (after you read the rule book) is change the bed! The owners were away and the couple taking care of the place were very nice and so hospitable that I hesitated to criticize this B&B. The pillows and blankets you are permitted to use are in the closet. The most ludicrous one says that the pillows and bedspreads are for show only and you are not to sit on them or use them for cover. In that Rule Book there are many more rules. There is one in your room telling you that you must read the Rule Book as soon as you check in. There is one posted by the toilet to remind you to adhere to the parking rules. There is one on the door to tell you to shut it gently but firmly. What was most off-putting though, was the abundance of rules posted everywhere. We stayed in Azalea Suite which is large, but full of Victorian accents and decorations. The house itself is beginning to need updating and is quite cluttered. We enjoyed spending time on the spacious grounds and on the private pier. Should time allow, Brera District, Pinacoteca di Brera, and Piazza Gae Aulenti are some popular attractions that are within walking distance.ī&B Corso Buenos Aires 36 puts the best of Milan at your fingertips, making your stay both relaxing and enjoyable. The setting of the Bay Breeze is idyllic, very tranquil and relaxing.
